the rock and the roll

this is a blog full of the rumors i've heard lately. here goes.

rumor one - a possible smoking popes reunion show. you all may hate the popes, but they will always be one of my favorites. there is a rumor that there will be a show to promote the release of their cover cd. that would kick large amounts of ass.

rumor two - new band. this is more than a rumor, since it seems to be in a couple places on the web. josh caterer, former singer in the popes, tom daily, of not rebecca, smoking popes and tom daily and mike felumlee, of the popes and alkaline trio. have started a new band called duvall. they supposadly have recorded a couple of tunes and are supposed to tour with dashboard confessional this fall. i'm very excited about this. i know a lot of people hate josh's voice, but i love it and it would rock my world to see him rock it out again. i haven't been this excited about a band that noone has seen live since i say the hey mercedes post on the braid website ages ago. rock!

that's it for the rumors. tonight i'm going to the house of blues to see r.l. burnside. he recorded this record with the john spencer blues explosion backing him that is just the rawest piece of blues work i've heard lately. he's an old mississippi blues man and hopefully he'll play the stripped down blues. i love lonnie brooks, a chicago blues man, but chicago electric blues gets tiring quick. i'm very hopeful for a rocking show, but we'll see.

my line from lead was "who's going to sizzler?!" along with a little dance. totally improvised. i look like an ass, but oh well. you should all see this movie, but that's impossible.

time to pretend to work. argghh.
