It's too hot.
That's why I'm not posting as much. The lappy (Matt's laptop is what I use to blog on) although portable, gets the best internet connection from our office, which is closest to being the hottest room in our un-airconditioned apartment. I just don't think I should get all sweaty from typing, but if I stay in that room too long, that is what happens. Our hottest room is the kitchen; it's even gotten so bad that I try to wash dishes at certain times in the day (early morning, around midnight) when it's coolest and then stay out of the kitchen as much as I can during the day. The humidity is sucking my will to live.
I went to see Phoenix, French Kicks and The Dirty Things, this past Friday at the Double Door. I thought it was hot in my apartment! I was sweating balls at the show. The Double door has A/C right? It's not like I was seeing Madonna; the a/c should have been going strong. Besides the uncomfortable heat, I had a great time at the show. I didn't know much by the first two bands, but both surprized me. Phoenix isn't a band that I would usually listen to; it's a little poppy for my standards, but live, they totally rocked. I do, howver, love this video for "Consolation Prizes", so check it out if you have some time. Also, you can watch this HORRIBLE video for "Too Young" which was featured in the movie Lost in Translation. (both videos can found at this link.) Don't ask. I guess the French think Fish Mongers are romantic or something like that.
Just so you all know, my 10 year high school reunion is on August 19th. I'm 100% sure that I am not going to go. I really can't image how much fun I would have. All the people I want to see from high school I do, so what's the point of dropping $75 on "heavy" appetizers (as the invite says) and an open bar? Anyone who reads this - did you go to your 10yr reunion? Did you enjoy it? If you didn't go, do you regret not going?

Wait, WHAT? You're not going? At Vesper's you said you were ...
Franco and I are talking about going in a limo ... just to be jackasses.
Okay, maybe I am 98% sure I am not going. See, I was kind of hoping to see a list of who all is going to be there. If there are people going that I really want to see, then I'll go. I'm still super reluctant to drop $75 on this thing. I really don't have money to waste, especially when Matt and I are going back to California the week after to see our friends there. I would rather save $75 extra on that.
I don't know!
Actually, I totally understand. I still have to mail in my check ... $75 + airfare = very broke Joe.
And I am terribly afraid I'll get there and after about, ohhh an hour, I'll want to leave. That would blow ...
but I would get to see my family ... always a bonus ... and you guys ... double bonus ...
i'm still on the fence as well. i just can't decide.
i have mailed my check ... I will be there.
Let's just hope the check doesn't dounce.
