happy 5 days after cinco de maio

i'm back from observations at New Trier and Foreman high schools. For those of you who don't know, New Trier is a high school on the north shore of chicago. everyone is rich and the high school has an atm. an atm!! Foreman is a high school on the west side in a predominately latino neighborhood. They teach the recorder there. i know it because i heard it.

the observations were interesting, Foreman was a bit of an eye-opener after being raised in a lily-white suburb, but i think it made me look forward to the challange of multi-cultural education. cause it's gonna be a challange. i can't believe i'm almost 23.

vacation days make for tons of work. i hope you all are chillin' out there. i know i'll be chilling at the d-plan show tonight.
