Something Rare - A Post From Me:

Hey all - I figured I would check in to say that all is well here in Jeff Park. I'm currently in the middle of an apartment search, but hopefully I'll have a nice place in a matter of weeks. You know it's time to move on when you can actually hear your upstairs neighbor blowing her nose.

Happy belated birthday, Matt! Congrats on the impressive Employee of the Month award, Jen!

You know what warms my heart? Witnessing a co-worker conducting a drug deal over the phone while his boss eats lunch just 15 feet away. Awesome.

And before I log out, I felt that I should mention LaLa.com, my new favorite website. It's sorta like Netflix, but with CDs. Check it out

I never thought that I'd be working at the Gap long enough for this to happen: I am Employee of the Month. Should I quit my job at the gallery? What do you think?

Besides that, it's been a crazy week here. My dear, dear, dear friend Paul and his band, Free Diamonds, rocked the Fireside this past Sunday. To tell you the truth, I didn't think they were playing shows there anymore. After they refinished the lanes, I pretty much had given up on the place. It was impossible to find out any information on the show at all. Paul confirmed the time of the show with me a mere 9 hours before it happened. My guess is the Fireside owners want to keep the shows small and not ruin the new lanes so they don't advertise. What do you think?

Free Diamonds have been on a 3 week, Midwest/east coast tour with another amazing band called Forsake Ya to the Snakes. There is some music on the myspace page, however, I suggest seeing them live for extra good times.

Paul and co. are now back on there way home to the U.K. Hopefully, if things go as well as they have been, they will be back to support an even larger tour in November. Keep your fingers crossed.

Here are some pics from our day out.

Yesterday, I had to go to court for the gallery to contest a false alarm ticket. It was horrible. The judge seriously badgered me. If I had to hear "So your telling me you don't have alarm!?!?!" I may have cried. The thing is, we share an alarm with four other businesses, so really the blame has to be on all four business or the building management company. Anyway, because there was insufficient evidence, the trial has been rescheduled. What the city will do for a measly $100.

One more thing and I am out. Matt and I registered for the AIDS Marathon in. . . Honolulu!!! Now, you may think I am insane because A) I don't run and B) don't necessarily exercise regularly (unless you count yoga) and you probably wonder how A) I am going to complete 26.2 miles and b) raise, gulp, $3,400 to actually get to Hawaii, but for some reason, I feel really good about this. Be prepared, in the next couple of months I'll be badgering everyone to help me raise money for the cause. I am super excited to start training and you'll be able to check my progress on a website set up by the AIDS Foundation. I will post more info when it comes!

Let me just tell you how great Matt is. Today is his birthday and he still helped me wash my car (trust me when I say this was more of an ordeal than it sounds.)

So, happy birthday, sweetie!

Out of complete boredom, I read an article about celebrity baby names. Did you know that Jason Lee's son's name is Pilot Inspektor? (yes there is a "k" in place of the "c" in inspector.) What do you call the kid? Pilot? Inspektor? Maybe Pi for short? I don't know. This has made me think that I have to think of some baby names that are up to par in the celebrity world. No, I'm not preggers, but there is nothing wrong with thinking ahead. Here are some names that Matt, his band Virus . . . attack! and I came up with.

BOY NAMES:

Baron Von Dal Santo -Matt's last name is Dal Santo, which in Italian, means "of the Saints." This name always cracks me up because the translation is "Noble Man of the of the Saints" plus its good old fashioned German and Italian all rolled into one.

Bonaventure Boniface (translation: good luck benevolent one)

Gozer Bowser- Matt and I have always been big fans of Ghost Busters and Mario Brothers, so why not name our child after all powerful beings? Besides, I hear Gozer was very big in Sumeria.

Buckskip

Wicked Guitar Solo or Weedelee Deedelee (the sound of a wicked guitar solo)

GIRL NAMES:

Spicy Blackbean Burger, Spicy, for short - we are all vegetarians. What do you want?

Dandelion Goodgarden

Diet Coke Sponge Cake

Last minute combinations:

With the ever so popular combining celebrity couple names, like Bennifer or TomKat, what if we named our child a combination of us?

Jattifer
Mattifer
Mennithew

Ding dong the witch is dead!

A certain manager- one that I have wanted to hurt in many various ways for being too high strung and well, a downer, to say the least - at one of my places of work, quit yesterday! Bring it on!

Not only that, but the crazy dress code has been changed, so now I can wear gym shoes, shorts, hats, you name it. I nearly cried yesterday.

I am also getting back some pretty change from the goverment for taxes, so it looks like I will be back in sunny California for my birthday as I had hoped. It's so exciting knowing that a vacation is in my future.

Basically, the beginning of this week started out right. Finally.

Does art mimic life or does life mimic art?

Discuss.
