I haven't been posting lately because I was in Los Angeles. Finally! a vacation! I managed to eat more on this vacation then I do at home. My guess is that since Matt and I did live there for just over a year, we pretty much saw everything we wanted to see. We saved up all the money that we would have used on attractions for food - and drinks. However, I did do one new thing that I never did while living in LA - seeing a movie at the Hollywood cemetary. We saw "Chinatown"- which I had never seen before - and it was really amazing to see a true Los Angeles movie in the middle of Hollywood. Even some of the characters the movie was based on were buried right where we were watching the film. It was pretty amazing. And cold. Really fucking cold.

As per usual, whenever I fly somwhere, two things happen. 1) I get a cold. Despite all my attempts to stay healthy, aka vitamin C, numerous hand washings on the plane, I started feeling sick today. I've been sneezing and sniffling all morning. 2) I always post on the blog my favories from the Sky Mall catalog! It's like all the worthless inventions in America in one handy place. It just isn't a vacation with out it! Here are a few of my findings!

Please tell me these aren't the creepiest things you have seen! They are full leg massage boots- and you can even get a car adapter for them!

I've seen these (the "relax and nap" pillow) elsewhere, but this picture always makes me laugh.

This looks like a microphone, only it's a radio and it's waterproof! What will they think of next?

For $300, why would I buy this "One step CD Duplicator" when I can buy a DVD recorder that actually records onto a DVD from TV, DVD or VHS and actually plays them too, for the same price?

This gigantic device is a "Touchless Dustpan" than senses when debris is near and then sucks it up. Anyone heard of a vacuum?

I love the look on this guy's face. It's a head messager.

Just so you know, I didn't go to my 10 year reunion or the after party. I made calls to friends at the reunion, and it seems as though everyone was pretty wasted towards the end of the event. Oh well. maybe I'll go in 10 years.

Last night was my 28th birthday party (not my actual birthday, however) and somehow, I managed to get up this morning and get my ass to the gallery. I had so much fun last night. I will post some pictures once I am in front of my computer.

Tonight is the night of my high school reunion. I finally got to look at the guest list, and well, I'm not too impressed. Also, as I had suspected, there is going to be an after party (also in Rosemont) so I can definitely make it out for that.

Thanks Megan for the link. I wouldn't have posted it if wasn't so true to life. And I thought no one listened to me.

I wanted to share this video with you if you haven't seen it yet. I'm sure everyone has by now, but if not, enjoy!

I still haven't decided on the reunion thing. I asked my sister what she thought and she said not to go. Apparently, she ditched out on her 10 yr high school reuinion but was talked into going to her college five year reunion which she said was "a complete waste of time." I highly doubt that my sister is the best judgement on this matter - I was slightly more involved in high school then she was. Nonetheless, I think I'm going to say "no" to the reunion, and Joe - you can call me when it's over and I'll see where everyone is heading for drinks. I'll hit the reunion after the reunion. And I won't have to dress up.

Lately, I've gotten hooked on selling items on Craig's List. I sold some furniture about two years ago when I moved to California, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. I sold a kitchen hutch to this nice couple in Printers Row and they were really easy to work with. Now, I am attempting to sell this video camera that I haven't used in ages. It's works fine and it looks brand new - I just don't need it. I've already gotten a few responses back, however, a couple seem kind of shifty. These buyers want to pay more than I asked for by a cashier's check they send in the mail. Then they will send me shipping info and prepaid labels to ship out the camera. I got a little nervous, so I checked out this. Could these people be trying to scam me? Is it strange that I feel a little jittery writing them back? Could they possibly tack into my non-exsistant banking account and rob me blind? I'm over reacting, I know. Anyway, if anyone wants this camera, they are going to have to meet me and pick it up. Or I'll drop it off. I'm pretty flexible for the most part. Whatever.

My reunion is coming up in late September, and I'm still on the fence about it. Sure, it's at Joe's on Weed Street (<-- at least 7000 spots behind The Hansa Clipper on a list of "Top Places To See In Chicago"), but curiosity will probably get the best of me. Why got fat? Who got skinny? Who works at Jiffy Lube? I NEED answers for all of those. That, and I'll get to see some of the old Hesterman bloggers for the first time in ages (assuming they show up). We weren't promised heavy appetizers, but the open bar "only" costs $50 if you pay in advance ($65 at the door).

As for other happenings in my life, I'm currently growing massive sideburns and staying out of the sun.
