Jen

Just to start off- Mike, it was great seeing you last Saturday. How is it that you know people everywhere you go?

I had to take Josie to the vet this past Wednesday. She broke- how this happened, I do not know- a lower canine. Anyway, the vet was able to remove the remaining part of tooth without having to put her under, and saving me tons of cash as well. However, twice a day, we have to give her this bubblegum smelling antibiotic, and of course, Josie hates it. And, she hates me for giving to her. She has some "trust issues" right now. Every time I go to pet her, she looks at me like I am going to grab her and stick this syringe like thing in her mouth and pump her full of drugs. I don't blame her, but I really wish she would understand that this is much better than surgery! It feels like I am torturing her.

Otherwise, my week has been fairly uneventful. I've been working on my knitting, and I'm pretty much done with it. My last class is this Sunday and I'm excited to have my first completed knitting project. huzzah!

I would love to comment on the Oscars, but sadly enough, I don't even know what movies or actor/actresses are nominated. I guess I have something to be surprised about this Sunday.

I'm getting used to this posting on Friday thing. I like it.

I did some g-mail chatting with Pat (ex-boyfriend) this past Wednesday, and apparently, he did a google search of the band, Sidekick Kato, and a blog of mine from the year 2001 popped up on the list. Here is what I think is so crazy about all of this:
1) That was nearly six years ago. The fact that I manage to still write on this blog six years later is pretty amazing to me. Out of all the hobbies that I have, only a rare few have stuck with me for six years.
2)The fact that a six year old post pops up on google says 2 things: a)There is nothing about this band on the internet, so my post stating that Sidekick Kato sucks is really all there is to read and b)perhaps that since google now owns(?) blogger could justify the fact that my post was on the list.
Finally, 3)I wonder how many other people have read that post, either while doing a google search of something, or just by being friendly and keeping up reading this blog over the years. You know, I write on this thing at least once a week, and most of the time, I think it's only my eyes that read what I am saying. It makes me think about who is really reading this.

Deep Thoughts, by Jen.

Anyway, for all those interested, knitting is going well. Knitting, yet another hobby that I took up about four years ago and failed miserably at, I am now attempting again and actually making progress. I realize how nice it is to take up something with a friend, weather it be knitting or running every morning, because it makes all the difference in how much you keep at it. Becky and I have been exchanging e-mails all week to make sure we are both getting along okay. When I tried to teach myself how to knit, I didn't have anyone or anything to compare my work with. Now I have support!

I've been meaning to post my Polaroid of the month, but my scanner is either dead or broken. Anyway you slice it, it looks like I'll have to invest in a new one. I don't really want to drop the cash on it, however, since I do use it for work sometimes, I think it might end up being a good investment. Anyone have any recommendations?

In case you are all wondering, I got up the nerve to go and cut my hair. My head has never felt lighter!

Today is my first knitting class that I am taking with friend and fellow Blogger, Becky (whose name doesn't show up on this blog anymore because she hasn't posted in ages. . .) Bloom Yoga Studio, which is just a couple of blocks from my house, is hosting this knitting class- 3 classes, 2 hours per class, for $65. They even supply all the materials. It was almost too good to be true. I figured if I'm stuck inside during this crappy weather, might as well make something while I'm watching TV, right?

I know it's a little late to post about the Superbowl, but man, didn't that game suck? I even pulled out my 7 inch vinyl of the Superbowl Shuffle in hopes for victory after we scored the first touchdown, and then sheepishly put it away after we began to lose. I'd love to say "maybe next near," but let's get real. Who knows when the Bears will see another Superbowl. For shame.

I don't know why this is bothering me, but I can't decide if I should cut my hair or not. I had plans to go to Big Hair on Thursday, then changed my mind. Now I'm debating if I should go tomorrow. I haven't had a long hair since I was 15, and now that it's back, I'm having some issues parting with it again. If you ask me about my hair, I'll complain about how long it takes to dry, how brittle the ends are, and how unmanageable it is at this length. Yet, here I am, debating if I should cut it off or not. Stupid hair.

Kit and I have posted a lot of new pics on Chroma. It's the best thing your eyes will see all day.

Last night, of course, right when I was planning to go to bed, my bathroom ceiling started leaking. I'm so glad we know the people upstairs (aka Christie and Mike). We think their radiator is the problem. My building manager was supposed to stop by today to check it out. However, now I'm worried that this will turn into weeks of inconvenience, like tearing up my ceiling, fixing pipes, scaring the kitties. . . you get it. It makes me want to put a bucket under the leak and just deal.

Is it horrible that I want to reject having a social life because it is too cold outside? Hmmm, I didn't think so either.
