It's official -I am 29. woo.

Not so exciting. Actually at the old age of 29, I have become lactose intolerant. So, the delicious Hula Pie I had as a birthday cake gave me a stomach ache! Then I got over it and it was a great birthday anyway.

We had friends in town yet again at Hotel Cloverfield (the new name of our apartment.) Eric and Kim are great, as well as great guests- they brought us all kinds of vegetables from Kim's garden, as well as wine and bread from San Luis Obispo, where they are from. Good times.

This weekend, Matt is going on some massive hike/camping trip that I am excluded from because I am out of shape. It's true. He's been training for this hike for weeks, and well, I've been working. He doesn't want me to collapse on some mountain trail to be eaten by bears. It's sweet and all, but it leaves me with absolutely nothing to do on Labor Day weekend. Once again, woo.

I also saw Ratatouille this weekend which is a fantastic movie. It's still in some theaters, so try to see it if you can. The little rat, Remy, is so cute! Almost makes me forget the time where a field mouse was nesting under my bed back when I lived with my parents. Okay -nothing will ever make me forget that. Sorry, Remy.

I just wanted to share my joy with everyone that R. Kelly is continuing with his masterpiece, "Trapped in the Closet." I heard new chapters were being released while listening to the radio on my way to work all week, and finally remembered to find the preview for chapters 13-22! It's both ridiculous and hilarious. It's like a train wreck.

You

can't

stop

staring.

I just had a surprise guest in town - my coworker from the gallery I used to work at in Chicago- my friend, Rebecca. She's interviewing for gallery jobs in LA, so hopefully things will work out for her. It will also be nice to have another friend out here - especially because I have only one other female friend that lives in LA. All my friends are dudes. It's the sad truth.

Matt just had some of his haikus published in Spry, a Chicago based magazine described as "an innovative and non-commercial internet publication embracing artwork and the stories of everyday people." Please check this out if you get a chance.

Matt and I think we saw Tori Spelling on Main Street in Santa Monica this past Sunday. I haven't heard anything about Tori Spelling recently, so I googled her to see what she is up to. Apparently, because she can't act and has no current acting job, she is now a Reverend! Read it in this People article! Wait - I take back the no job thing - I guess she has a show on the Oxygen network, but who really watches that station?

We have nothing planned for this weekend!! I am so excited to do nothing!!!! My friend, Eric, wants us to go to the Sunset Junction fair, but I kind of think doing nothing is way better. Besides check out the solid entertainment they have booked for Saturday! Let's hear it for the boy!

Hey all - just checking in with something gross I witnessed on the Milwaukee bus earlier this evening. An older gentleman who was obviously in training for the Combover Olympics busted out several sheets of toilet paper and proceeded to vigorously rub the seat surface in an effort to evenly distribute the butt germs of the previous passenger. I imagine he was actually trying to "clean" the seat, but let's be honest - one ply is no match for years of CTA filth. It doesn't end there, folks! He then stretched the portion of toilet paper out and cringed before giving a final nod of approval (the same reaction Cuba Gooding Jr. had at the premiere of "Daddy Day Camp"). At this point I imagined it couldn't get any better, but boy was I wrong! He then folded the toilet paper down the middle so that the filth was on both sides and...wait for it...BLEW HIS NOSE WITH THE TOILET PAPER.

For those that are curious, the walking cartoon below is supposed to be me as a Simpsons character walking through a carnival. Good times.

I have not had a chance to sit by my computer and actually do anything "me" related as opposed to work related. Matt's friends from Virus! . . . Attack are in town, and half of my apartment feels like a frat house. They also love to just sit and click around on the computer, so I haven't been spending any time there. For the most part, I've been hanging out in my bedroom just to get some alone time.

Last Sunday we went to the X-games, which were awesome, minus the strange sun tan I have on my face due to my sunglasses. I have pictures which -as you probably already know - I will post.

Tonight I am off to the OC to see a friend of mine perform. You'll hear more from me when the party leaves the casa!
