Yesterday, it took Matt and I 9 hours to get from Las Vegas to Venice. This trip is usually about 4 1/2, 5 hours. At one point in time, we traveled a whopping 12 miles in one hour! It was awesome!

Now I am home, thank god, and I can enjoy two more days off before returning back to work.

Christie, I'm hoping by now you checked your phone messages because Ken called you from my house.

I think Ken and I look a little shocked for some reason in this picture. Anyway, we had a great time hanging out.

My parents got Matt and I the new Sorry card revenge game! I am so excited to play it later!

Ok, I'm boring. Hope everyone had a nice Thaksgiving!

Is anyone else excited about Thanksgiving next week? I'm happy to have a whopping five day holiday in it's honor. I will also be in Las Vegas, eating lots of food for free! That sounds like a joyous vacation to me!

I'm guessing most people who have met him will remember him, but my friend, Ken (who used to go to UIC with me and then moved back home to Tokyo) will be in town for just one day this Wednesday. He is on a layover between Chile amd Tokyo on a business trip. I am really excited to see him. It has been at least four years since we have hung out. And to top it off, we have been working on this photo project the whole time through the mail, so now we can talk about it in person. I can already feel the makings of a good week.

Last week, Matt and I went to this film screening for this HORRIBLE movie called "Devour." I think that it was written by three different people who all had a different story in mind but never completed one idea. It was a mixture of a "scary" internet game, a mass of serial killings and the devil trying to reclaim his lost spawn. It sucked. I had to fill out a comment sheet and Matt made me put down my pencil so that we could hit Coldstone Creamery before it closed. (Beck- I thought of you!)

I really thought that I was going to make it home for New Years Eve but I'm not so sure if that is going to happen now. I'm still working on finding a cheap way to get home.

Matt and I plan to go to the hub of commercialism today (target) and buy a video camera. We are going to make a short little movie and then return it because hell, Target takes anything back.

Hmmm. That's all.

ps. Christie, just so you know, I feel your pain. Matt and I plan a move to either Canada or England if Bush wants to reinstate the draft.

Here's a shot of my powerful rendition of Funky Cold Medina (or perhaps this was I Touch Myself?) during a 7 and 1/2 hour stint at The Hidden Cove:

I don't even know who that guy is:

It's great to see that things are going well for you and Matt out in Cali, Jen. Things around here are decent (if a little dull), but the weather is starting to get crappy again. Work is still going well, although I recently started a side business where I scour discount and cut-out bins at places like Sam Goody and other crappy chains in search of good albums that were accidentally (or purposely) put there. I then put the albums up on eBay and wait for the money to roll in. My profits so far have exceeded $6.80! I'm not exactly a billionaire yet, but I should be a ten dollaraire by the middle of next week.

In crazy family news, I recently discovered that my Aunt Jan is getting married in 3 or 4 months - I had no idea she was even dating anyone! Oh, and I'm currently developing a cable access talk show called The Power Half-Hour With Greg The Nurse and Natural Mike. I don't know if this idea will actually come to fruition, but we're definitely working on it. It will either be the best or most embarrassing thing ever.

Ah, yet another week has passed. It was a busy week for me. Chris, my co-worker, was away on vacation which left me alone to set up the show that opened this Saturday at the gallery. I was a little nervous about doing everything right. I'm used how things worked at the museum, you know, how things are hung, the proceedure for new art etc. This was pretty much the same, but there will always be slight differences where ever you are. Anyway, the show looks great, yadda, yadda.

Last Monday, Matt and I hiked up to Eagle Rock - a spot in Topanga Canyon where, as the name cleverly states, eagles used to make their home. It's only a 2 mile hike, but it's uphill the whole way. Anyway, it was so nice to be outdoors and away from it all. It's so quiet up there too. Awesome.

As it turns out, I have missed a whole shitload of good shows out here because I find the LA Times a little too cumbersome. Where's the Chicago Reader when you need it? Anyway, I've missed - Q and not U, Pinback, and Travis Mosrrison - that I just would have seen because, well, I'd have to, it's Travis! - among countless others that I don't know about it. If anyone in LA reads this, can you let me know how you find out about shows in an easier manner? Actually, can you just e-mail me about good shows? Thanks.

Here's me, on top of the world.

Jealousy
Turning saints into the sea
Turning through sick lullaby
Joking on your alibi
But it's just the price I pay
Destiny is calling me
Open up my eager eyes
I'm Mr. Brightside

There is something odd about having my weekend over a Sunday and a Monday as opposed to the usual. Sunday still feels like Sunday and well, so does Monday. I have no need to go out on a Sunday night even if there was something remotely interesting to do.

I am very sad that I missed the annual Becky and Greg Birthday extravaganza. It sounded like a lot of fun when I spoke Beck on the phone - just wish I could have been there. I had plans to go to this art opening, but two friends bailed on me, so I didn't go. It sucks going to an opening by yourself. Wow! Art is so cool when you have no one to talk to about it. Boo.

Matt saw John Cusack at the restaurant this week. He was dressed in a pair of very standard looking jeans and a faded black zip-up hoodie. I wish I had been there. . . ahhh, sweet dreams. Anyway, Matt says he was really nice. Unfortunately, he did not get any camera phone pics so I could see him for myself.

I am still depressed about the election. At least the two states that I have been residents of (Illinois and California) went democratic. Thank god. I can't even imagine the harrasment at work if Illinois went republican. For shame, country. For shame.

Here is a picture of Tiger. She is crazy and bites my toes. She also amused herself with a wrapped starburst for about 20 minutes. Huzzaz for being able to amuse yourself.

Now, because I am turning into every other boring mid-twenties-something psuedo-adult, I will go watch extreme home makeover.

Hey Christie - didn't you blog the other day?

I saw a better version of this map this morning where "The Confederate States of America" read as "Jesusland."
